(this program is for Middle School aged students ONLY!)

STEPS TO COMPLETE REGISTRATION

*Please note: In order to make this program a success, we need a commitment from you and your child to participate in our full 6-week program. Spots are limited.

  • Click the Parent Portal link at the top of this page to login or create your account.

  • Go to the 'My Account' tab to add all household members - This step must be completed before registering a child for a program

  • Click “Register for Program”

  • Important: Change the selected location to All Locations.

  • Program Categories: Hiking Club OR Hiking Club (Non Club Member)

  • Select the drop-down to view and select appropriate program level (see below).

  • Select Eligible Member

  • Complete Registration Form and Waivers 

  • Submit Payment

Join us as we complete the 9th Annual Mt. Shasta Trail Challenge by completing 6 of the 12 trails!​​​

Program Details:​​

  • 6 Week Program 9/16/26 - 10/21/26

  • Wednesdays (MSUSD Minimum Days) ​

  • 2:00 - 5:00 PM

  • 1 Make Up Day on 11/4/26 (If Needed)

  • Open to Sisson Club Members & Non-Club Middle School age students

  • Weather Permitting

Hiking Trails:

​Hike 1 - 9/16/26 - Bear Trail - Weed, CA

Hike 2 - 9/23/26 - Flume Trail - Castle Crags (Lakehead, CA)

Hike 3 - 9/30/26 - McCloud Falls - McCloud, CA

Hike 4 - 10/7/26 - Spring Hill - Mt. Shasta, CA

Hike 5 - 10/14/26 - Heart Lake - Mt. Shasta, CA

Hike 6 - 10/21/26 - Gray Butte - Mt. Shasta, CA​​

Suggested Supplies:

  • Sturdy shoes or boots (preferably hiking shoes/boots)

  • Loose comfortable clothing

  • Jacket 

  • Hat (optional)

  • Sunglasses (optional)

  • Sunblock (optional)

  • Trail pack/backpack (optional)

  • Extra snacks (optional)

What’s Included:

✔ Snacks for each hike

✔ Water Bottle upon registration to use during hikes

✔ Guided Hikes

✔ Transportation to and from the trailheads

✔ Participants who complete ALL 6 hikes will earn a free 2026 Trail Challenge custom sticker sheet AND either        an insulated water bottle OR custom Trail Challenge hat

✔ Assistance available for Club Members

Pricing:

  • BGCGS 2026/27 Session 1 Club Member: $60

  • Non-Club Member: $100

Transportation & Drop-Off/Pick-Up Info:

Transportation:

All Hiking Club members will be transported to and from the trailheads in our Mercedes Sprinter Van by Tyler, the Director of Adventure Education and Community Programs.

BGCGS Members:
Club members will need to be at and checked into the the Sisson Club site by 1:50 PM and will be escorted to and from the van by Club Staff.  Club Members should return around 5:00 PM.

Non-Club Members:
Please arrive at Sisson Middle School (601 Alma St., Mt. Shasta, CA, 96067) 10 minutes before the program begins (1:50 PM) and return for pick-up 10 minutes before the program ends (4:50 PM).  Pick up times will vary with each hike, please check in with Tyler.

*Important Note:  The Hiking Club is subject to cancellation if our minimum requirement of 6 registrations is not met 

If your family can afford to contribute, please consider making a donation. Every little bit of support helps us strengthen our Club and allows us to offer programs such as this to all members no matter their economic status.

***Registration will not be complete until the registration form and payment have been received, BGCGS operates with a first pay-first serve basis.***

Annual $20 Membership Fee
THIS ONLY NEEDS TO BE DONE ONCE ANNUALLY (JAN 1, 2022-DEC. 31, 2022) 
You may make your child's Annual Club Membership payment through this online portal, or you may pay in-person, at our Administrative Office.
Additional Program Fees may be applicable such as specialty Club programs (i.e. Skiing/Snowboarding, etc,) and our Summer Program.
