BGCGS After-School Program Information
2026–2027 School-Year Programs
The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Shasta provides safe, supportive and engaging after-school programming for local youth.
Our Mount Shasta programs are operated in partnership with the Mount Shasta Union School District and are held at Mount Shasta Elementary School and Sisson School. These programs are open to both Mount Shasta Union School District students and youth from outside the district, based on availability.
Our Weed program is operated in partnership with Weed Elementary School and is available only to students enrolled at Weed Elementary School.
Important Registration Dates — Mount Shasta Sites Only
Monday, July 27
Registration opens for students enrolled in the Mount Shasta Union School District.
Monday, August 3
Registration opens to all other members, based on remaining program availability.
Registration is completed through the MyClubHub Parent Portal. The Parent Portal link is located at the top of this page.
Please Note:The Parent Portal's Session 1 membership will not be open or active until 10 am Monday, December 8, although the link is already available on our website and included below for your convenience.
Weed Elementary Families
The registration dates and process listed on this page do not apply to the new Weed Elementary School program.
Registration for the Weed Elementary program will follow a separate process through Weed Elementary School.
Enrollment will take place in person at the beginning of the school year with support from Weed Elementary School and Boys & Girls Club staff.
Families interested in the Weed Elementary program should hang tight for additional information. Please do not use the Mount Shasta registration process for the Weed Elementary program.

Session Structure & Registration Timeline
Our school-year program is divided into two sessions, aligned with the MSUSD academic calendar:
Session 1
August – December
Registration opens each August (date announced on our website and social media).
Session 2
January – June
Registration opens each December (date announced on our website and social media).
Please note: Registration takes up to 48 hours to process.
School-Year Schedule
Our standard Mount Shasta after-school program follows the Mount Shasta Union School District school-year calendar.
During Session 1, the Club’s standard after-school program will operate on days that Mount Shasta Union School District schools are open. The program begins at school dismissal and continues through the regular Club closing time.
Programs offered during school holidays, district closures, extended breaks or other non-school days are not included in the standard school-year membership. When staffing and resources allow, these opportunities may be offered as separate programs requiring additional registration and fees.
This may include Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break, Presidents’ Week, Spring Break, summer programming and other specialty or holiday programs.
Membership Fees (2026–2027 School Year Session 1)

$150 per session for K–8th grade

$300 per session for TK
These fees remain the same regardless of the date you register during the session.
Additional fees may apply for specialty programs (Outdoor Adventure, Mountain Biking, Summer Programs, etc.).
Financial assistance is available for families who need support.

Financial Assistance and Membership Fee Waivers
Financial assistance is available to families who need support.
Students enrolled in the Mount Shasta Union School District who qualify for Free or Reduced-Price School Meals may also qualify for a partial or full waiver of Boys & Girls Club membership fees.
Families seeking a membership fee waiver must carefully and accurately complete all financial assistance and Free or Reduced-Price Meal eligibility questions during the registration process. Eligibility will be confirmed through the Mount Shasta Union School District office before a partial or full membership fee waiver is finalized.
Families who do not attend the Mount Shasta Union School District may also apply for financial assistance. Assistance will be considered based on the family’s individual circumstances and available funding.

K–3rd Grade Capacity: 110 members
Sisson Middle School (4th–8th Grade)
4th-6th: 45 members
7th-8th: 5 members
Eligibility is based on school enrollment grade.
How to Register (Using the MyClubHub Parent Portal)
All registration for BGCGS programs is completed through our MyClubHub Parent Portal.
The Parent Portal link is located at the top of this page.
Please follow the steps below to ensure your child is fully registered.
Registration is not complete until the final payment step is submitted.
Step 1: Create Your Parent Portal Account

Click the Parent Portal link at the top of this page.

Select “Create Account” and enter your information as the parent/guardian.

Check your email for a message from MyClubHub with a link to set your password and log in for the first time.
Step 2: Set Up Your Household in the Parent Portal

After logging in, go to “My Account.”

Add all household members -this includes all parents/guardians and all children.

This step must be completed before registering a child for a membership.

Once your household members are added, proceed to the next step to submit your child’s membership application.
Step 3: Submit a Membership Application

Log in to the Parent Portal using the email and password you created.

Click the “Memberships” tab at the top of your screen.

Select the Membership (Session 1 or Session 2) you would like to apply for.

Complete all required fields on the application.

If your family needs financial assistance, you may either:

Select “Yes” on the financial assistance question within the program registration form, or Email info@bgcgreatershasta.org to request scholarship or payment plan information.

Submit your application for review.

Once your application is submitted, the Club will review it.

You will receive an approval email when your membership application has been accepted.
Step 4: Finalize Your Membership & Submit Payment

After you receive your approval email, log back in to the Parent Portal.

Navigate to “My Account” and open the “Membership Applications” section.

Click “Complete” next to your approved application.

Follow the prompts to submit your membership payment.

Your child’s membership is active only after payment is completed.

Project Learn
Our Learning Center supports programs such as Project Learn-- a nationally-recognized, education enhancement program with high-yield learning activities including literacy comprehension, tutoring, and STEM with an emphasize on parent involvement and the collaboration between Club and school professionals. These programs have been successful in engaging Club members, helping them develop greater confidence in their academic abilities, improving the quality and quantity of completed homework, and increasing school attendance rates.
Power Hour
Power Hour homework assistance helps Club members achieve academic success by providing homework help, tutoring, high-yield learning activities and encouraging members to become self-directed learners.
Dedicated Youth Development Professionals and volunteers supervise each session and help youth members complete their assignments for the day. When they finish their work, they may choose to participate in a variety of other engaging and educational activities to develop their skills even further.
Power Hour is a great opportunity for kids and teens to get their homework completed in a quiet place with support from trained, caring staff at a Boys & Girls Club.
STEM
STEM curriculum connects youth to science themes they encounter regularly. Special attention is paid to connections of theory and application and the common interactions members have with these scientific principles. It provides youth who might otherwise not have access to STEM experiences with simple, fun, hands-on activities. Exposure to science, technology, engineering, and math is critical during childhood when young people’s natural curiosity drives interest and builds capacity for success in these disciplines.
At the Club, we are excited to have the opportunity to incorporate a 3D printing element into our STEM program. This cutting-edge technology allows our members to become designers and creators, allowing their imagination to take form in a way that also promotes better spatial reasoning skills and 2D to 3D conversion understanding.
Garden-to-Table
We have formed a strong partnership with the Siskiyou Land Trust that allows us to further enhance our Garden-to-Table Program, and ultimately, allows our Club members to connect with the community. The Siskiyou Land Trust has provided us with garden space through a grant from Mt. Shasta Rotary, which included the construction of a safety fence, for the Garden-to-Table program. This ongoing program promotes healthy lifestyles and assists members in becoming responsible caretakers through gardening.
This program provides Club members with an opportunity to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine while engaging in agricultural practices on a small scale, learning about the responsibilities and impacts of land cultivation and building a cob oven to share with the community. The Club will be cultivating the garden with the community, creating a community culture in the garden.
Triple Play
Triple Play: A Game Plan for the Mind, Body and Soul is BGCA’s proven dynamic health and wellness program that is designed to help youth create opportunities to take charge of their personal health and wellness.
Healthy Habits (Mind): Addresses the ways an individual’s health behaviors are influenced by personal beliefs and exposure to positive modeling.
Daily Challenges (Body): Intentional focus on physical literacy: Ability - Increasing capability in basic movement skills and overall fitness; Confidence -the knowledge of the ability to play sports or enjoy other physical activities and Motivation- the intrinsic enthusiasm for physical activity for members to be physically active for life.
Social Recreation (Soul): Emphasis on social and emotional development, or the social, cognitive, and behavioral skills that youth need to be healthy and productive. There is an explicit focus on emotional regulation, healthy relationships (with self and others), and responsible decision-making.
SMART Girls
SMART Girls is a small-group health, fitness, prevention/education and self-esteem enhancement program designed to meet the developmental needs of girls in three age groups, spanning ages 8 to 18. Through dynamic sessions, participatory activities, field trips and mentoring opportunities with adult women, Club girls explore their own and societal attitudes and values as they build skills for eating right, staying physically fit, getting good health care and developing positive relationships with peers and adults.
Passport to Manhood
Passport to Manhood represents a targeted effort to engage young boys in discussions and activities that reinforce character, leadership and positive behavior. Each participant receives a “passport” to underscore the notion that he is on a personal journey of maturation and growth. Each of the program’s 14 sessions use interactive activities to focus on a specific aspect of character and manhood. It also includes a service project where boys learn the importance of giving back to the community.
Torch Club
Torch Club is a “club within the Club,” helping to meet the special character-development needs of younger adolescents at a critical stage in their life.
A Torch Club is a powerful vehicle through which young people develop and strengthen their 21st-century leadership skills, giving them a firm foundation of good character and integrity. Torch Club members elect officers and work together to implement projects in the four focus areas: service to Club and community; education; health and fitness; and social recreation.
Arts & Crafts
Giving Kids a Voice through the Arts. These programs are designed to foster creativity in young people, and give them outlets for self-expression. From pottery to painting, our arts programs have something that will inspire everyone.
Cooking
Our partnership with Great Northern provides nutritious snacks and meals to members at the Club through our summer lunch program and the food pantry during the school year. However, with such an important endeavor, support from the community is always needed and greatly appreciated.
Our goal is that no kid leaves the Club hungry due to the food scarcity in our county. Siskiyou County is the second highest in California for food insecurity among children, according to KidsData.org, so we are grateful to be able to offer this important service to Siskiyou County’s youth which also allows them to better focus on their academic success.
We aim to take this initiative a step further by providing Club members with the opportunity to learn about healthy eating habits, and how to prepare nutritious meals.
Ultimate Journey
Ultimate Journey cultivates an awareness and appreciation of the natural wonders that surround young people. Ultimate Journey, created in partnership with the National Park Service, introduces young people to aspects of environmental stewardship through hands-on STEM curriculum while having fun learning about our wonderful home and environment!
Connecting Kids to the
Outdoors
The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Shasta is committed to bringing fun and exciting programs to Club members for both the winter and summer seasons, with the goal of making the outdoors more accessible to the youth of Siskiyou County.
The kids who need us most, who might otherwise not be able to afford these programs, get to experience all the wonders of our natural surroundings through skiing and snowboarding program in the winter, and mountain biking in the summer and autumn.
