Food Prep -Youth Development Professional (Part-Time)

Youth Development Professionals are the cornerstone of the Club Experience. Whether they are creating fun activities, empowering youth leaders, or setting high expectations, our YDPs bring the key elements of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Shasta to life. During these uncertain times, it is even more important for youth to have a safe and encouraging support network; meaning that you have the opportunity to make a positive, life-long impact on the lives of the youth we serve.

  Primary Function:  

Under the supervision of the Unit Director, the Food Service/Youth Development Professional is responsible for helping with planning, coordination, and preparation of all meals and snacks that are provided at the club. They may also be trained to serve as back-up for our Youth Development professionals who run a variety of programs including: Character and Leadership Development, Education and Career Development, Health and Life Skills, Art, Sports, Fitness and Recreation

  Success Factors:  

  • Ability to prep, cook, and organize meals and snacks 

  • Ability to listen, to demonstrate patience, and to create a positive atmosphere 

  • The ability to communicate effectively in written and oral forms.

  Position Responsibilities:  

  • On-Site preparation of food 

  • Delivery and clean up of food service at club site

  • Potential supervision of the Club members.

  • Maintains a positive outlook and attitude and provides constructive feedback 

  • Adhere to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Shasta policies and procedures 

  • Maintain positive discipline and safety procedures at all times.

  • Maintain respectful communication with members, parents, school personnel, and other staff.

  • Help maintain a clean facility

  • Additional duties as assigned.

  Experience / Education Preferred  

  Wage / Benefits:  

  • One year of food service experience preferred 

  • Demonstrated experience in planning and organization.

We are looking for Part-time applicants with up to 29 hours per week. Competitive hourly wages ($16-$18/ hour) based upon qualifications and experience. Professional development opportunities and additional hours are available contingent upon performance, funding, and approval.

Availability is needed Monday through Friday 1PM-6PM
