We are excited to announce that we are reopening the Club for our Summer Program starting June 29th. In preparation of welcoming back our Club members, Boys & Girls Club of Greater Shasta has put in place preventative measures in accordance to the CDC guidelines to reduce the spread of COVID-19, and assure that our summer program would be fully compliant with social distancing and infection prevention protocols.
Summer is an exciting time for our Club members as they are invited to explore new hobbies, try new experiences and build life-long relationships. Last year, over 245 youth attended our summer program, experiencing a fun-filled, active summer in a safe environment with professionally-trained staff.
At our Summer Camp, Club members learn how to make the ordinary extraordinary! Our summer programs explore this world & beyond through weekly themes that are incorporated into each of our programs which include Summer Brain Gain, STEM, gardening, sports, games, the arts, mountain biking and project-based activities.
COVID-19 SAFTEY INFORMATION
Safety remains the number one priority of Boys & Girls Club of Greater Shasta and we are doing everything possible to keep children, our staff, and volunteers protected from the COVID-19 virus. We continue to monitor all updates from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and local and state health departments for updated information.
Given the state of the virus in our community and with guidance from local health officials, the Club plans to reopen June 29th. Upon reopening, the following precautions will take place to ensure the health and safety of both members and staff:
Social distancing (i.e. only 10 youth per classroom, spaced 6 feet apart)
Wellness monitoring (including temperature checks)
Mandatory Face Coverings for Staff and Club members
We realize that Boys & Girls Club of Greater Shasta is the only place that some of the families in our community can turn to when schools are closed. We are monitoring this diligently and will continue to operate with these limitations in place as long as we are able to provide a safe environment for young people. As always, we place the safety of our youth and staff at the highest level.
